The movie, Regretting You, was released in theaters on October 24, 2025. Featuring beloved actors and actresses, such as Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames, and Dave Franco, as well as being based on Colleen Hoover’s book Regretting You, many were anticipating this release.
With Morgan (Clara’s mom) and Clara being devastated and conflicted with feelings from their loved ones’ deaths, the movie follows their journey of grief and self-discovery. What I loved about this was how the film showed how complex grief truly is. Through the differing perspectives of Morgan and Clara, viewers can see how grief is different for everyone.
However, while the film did follow the complex path of grief for the characters, it also shows the story of Clara and Miller’s romance. While many would not expect a movie about grief to also be about love, Regretting You executed it perfectly. It was insane how quickly I went from laughing to crying in just one scene. Clara and Miller’s romance was so cute and captured teenage love most adorably.
However, the love between the two wasn’t just acting, but also a true romance in real life. With Mason Thames and Mckenna Grace dating in real life, watching their chemistry firsthand through such a cute romance will likely draw you in! Furthermore, I find it amazing how both actors rose to Hollywood fame at such a young age. I believe that Regretting You may be Mckenna Grace’s step into Hollywood. While she has always been that token blonde for any blonde actress flashback, I feel that this movie is her first stepping stone into being the blonde actress.
Overall, if you are looking for a cute movie to watch while stressing over school or college apps, Regretting You is the perfect film!
