We need to talk about this new drug that’s been going around recently, more specifically, a drug called Feel Free. This is a drug that is inconspicuous but dangerously addictive and deadly, and it is something easily available and accessible at your local gas station. I should not need to mention but this drug does not feel “free.” Rather, it feels punishing and makes you feel trapped in the addiction. This drug is highly addictive and terrible for you, and people don’t even realise it’s bad since it’s catered towards being “healthy” and helps you focus and work, but it doesn’t do this, at least not long-term. Also it is being promoted as an energy drink and last year it surpassed 5 hour energy in most energy drinks sold according to https://fortune.com/2025/12/28/kratom-drink-feel-free-fda-supplements-labeling-lawsuit/
Feel Free is primarily composed of Kratom from a tropical tree from Southeast Asia. This drink gives you an uncontrollable urge to drink more and more of it, and it’s extremely bad for you, making your personality do a complete 180, making you extremely different and sometimes even dangerous. Scientists have found that the effects of Kratom come from 2 main compounds: Mitragynine and 7-Hydroxymitragynine. These substances engage the same receptors in your brain that opioids do, The more powerful and used compounds in kratom products like “feel free” is 7-Hydroxymitragynine; Kratom changes its effects depending on the dosage; lower doses of Kratom result in stimulant-type effects, but the opposite occurs when taking a higher dose, which will result in opioid like effects, the complete opposite of the lower dose. It is also extremely difficult to determine if someone is under the influence of Kratom/7-Hydroxymitragynine. It is almost undetectable on any drug test, you need a specialized test for it to appear. Also Kratom is much much weaker than 7-Hydroxymitragynine, Kratom is a very raw drug while 7-Hydroxymitragynine is an extract that is much more exact and pure it’s much stronger then kratom and is becoming increasingly more popular by the day,
When I first learned about Feel Free, I was reading an interview with someone who witnessed the addiction firsthand. This man went to the gas station for a candy bar, and on his way in, he saw a child, 15 – 16 years old, begging and I mean on his knees, begging for some “Feel Free”. When the man walked inside to question the gas station clerk about it, she explained how it was a terrible drink, that once you drink it causes extreme addiction and makes people come back 4-5 times a day to get more. When I read this, I was horrified
This is extremely disgusting since it’s not only being marketed towards kids and being hyped up as a safe, non addictive drink that will benefit you in many ways. And it’s primarily made of a compound that opioid users use. In the terms of the more used drug 7-Hydroxymitragynine in feel free and other drugs, to put it in simpler terms I will just refer to it as 7-Hydro, 7-Hydro is extremely bad for you for many reasons honestly it’s pretty much an opioid but the weird part about it is that on a drug test it will not be flagged as an opioid. 7-Hydro is extremely addictive. To put it in perspective it is 10x more addictive than morphine. This is crazy and it is not hard to get and it’s unregulated by the government, since it’s a supplement companies can put whatever they want into their product, I hope I don’t need to remind people of this but this is extremely unsafe. Feel free is genuinely bad for you, it changes your personality and it makes you different and it’s extremely difficult to stop, you may want and want to stop but its grip upon you will make quitting extremely difficult. Anything else with Kratom or more specifically 7-Hydroxymitragynine do not do it, especially if you are susceptible to addiction or just don’t do it at all. More and more people are dying every year from 7-Hydroxymitragynine overdoses we just have to hope that the government finally steps in and regulates it or just flat out bans it, we need to hope that someone will finally be less lazy and do something about the things plaguing our already drug infested country.
