On April 25, 2026, President Donald Trump was evacuated from a gala dinner as a man broke into the hotel and opened fire near one of the security check points. The suspect of the shooting is now known as 31-year old Cole Tomas Allen. Allen has recently posted messages on social media that angrily criticized the president and encouraged people to go buy guns. The attempted assassination of Trump from Allen has sparked a debate on social media: was this a real assassination attempt, or was this staged? I personally believe that this was not a real assassination attempt for numerous reasons.
After the alleged assassination attempt, many videos of Trump being evacuated were posted online. The videos showed members of the secret service escorting Trump out. What many people did not see, however, was JD Vance being escorted out first before anyone even went to check on Donald Trump. In the many videos I saw, a majority of the secret service rushed to get Vance out. Donald Trump is the president of the United States, meaning that his safety is the most important to the secret service over anyone, even the vice president. The fact that Vance was rushed out first prompts some suspicions. Not only this, but there are videos where we can see that Trump was just left in the wings of the stage. If this truly was an assassination attempt on his life, the secret service would have taken him out of the building immediately.
On top of this, the alleged assassinations attempt in July of 2024 does not give Trump credibility on this topic. The one in 2024 was obviously fake. Trump claims that he was shot in the ear and pictures show blood on him. However, Trump also claimed that his ear cartilage grew back and he was as good as new; this is impossible. It is physically impossible for cartilage to grow back. Not only is his claim wrong, but his ear would be slightly deformed if he was actually shot. His ear looks exactly the same as before, proving he did not get shot in the ear. If he lied about that one, who’s to say that he did not lie about this one too.
I also looked at maps of the gala and the path that Allen took when he “attempted to assassinate” Trump and it does not make sense. The path that he took would mean that he had to get through multiple security checkpoints. There was a mass amount of secret service at all checkpoints which would make it incredibly difficult to get through them. Also, I saw a video of Allen rushing in, and he ran right by the secret service. They didn’t try to tackle him or anything, despite what officials have said.
Overall, I believe that this was not a real assassination attempt. Obviously I was not at the gala dinner when it happened, so I can not say for certain what happened. Trump has proven to be a liar over and over again and because of this, I do not believe that he is telling the truth about this. Trump is losing popularity and fast due to many recent events. I think he knows this and will do whatever it takes to make sure that he wins midterm elections.
