A lot just happened and I wanted to write about it.
2/3/26, 1:41 PM EST – Jaren Jackson Jr traded to Utah
The first big trade of the deadline was a confusing one. Utah? Really? Memphis got a haul for JJJ, including March Madness legend Walter Clayton Jr and three first round picks. They also kept Ja Morant for some reason, despite it being a foregone conclusion that his time in Memphis was coming to an end. Memphis is in a weird place right now, but those draft picks should be useful for the future.
2/3/26, 8:03 PM EST – James Harden traded to Cleveland for Darius Garland
I hope you enjoyed the James Harden experience Clippers! LA went through the same cycle as all of Harden’s previous teams. He decides that he wants to play for you, he plays well, then he decides you aren’t good enough and moves on, and the cycle repeats with the next team. It happened in OKC, Houston, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia, why would the Clippers of all teams be different? Darius Garland is a good return in a rare 1 for 1 trade

The 2026 Winter Olympics begin
We started off with curling, a sport I know nothing about.Â
2/4/26, 1:44 PM EST – Anthony Davis traded to Wizards
That Luka trade is up there with Herschel Walker, Ricky Williams, Babe Ruth, and all the other terrible trades in sports history. Interested to see how Trae Young and AD flow together in DC.
2/4/26, 1:58 PM EST – Jared McCain traded to Thunder
Joel Embiid, in nothing short of a work of God, is back to his old self. Joel asked one thing of this franchise, and that was to try and contend this year. What did they do? Trade one of the best shooters on the team. Here’s some advice Morey: If Sam Presti wants a player in your trade, trading that player is a bad idea. Although I have many criticisms of Morey, the real problem comes with Josh Harris’s need to duck the tax so he has more money for his three other teams. That isn’t even mentioning the activities he participated in with his billionaire friends, but that might have to be for another article.Â
2/4/26, 3:02 PM EST – Jackson Hayes suspended for pushing the Wizards mascot
Not important at all, I just thought it was funny
2/4/26, 3:00 PM EST – Artemi Panarin traded to Kings
Hockey news broken by Adam Schefter?Â
2/4/26, 6:09 PM EST – News breaks that Penn State star and future 1st overall pick Gavin McKenna charged with felony aggravated assault
I guess 20 years in prison is better than Vancouver. All jokes aside, if the reported story is true, McKenna should be fine.Â
2/4/26, 8:54 PM EST – Framber Valdez signs with Tigers on 3 year 115 million dollar deal
As the Tarik Skubal arbitration saga came to an end, the Tigers made a big move to hopefully break through in the AL. Unlike the NL that runs through the Dodgers, the AL has much more parity, and this move will be huge for October.
2/5/26, 12:33 AM EST – Unranked Portland upsets #6 Gonzaga
The first win over a top 10 opponent in franchise history. I can’t decide if Gonzaga isn’t the team they used to be, or if this is just who they’ve always been.

It just keeps getting worse. 13 years of dominant O lines and great run games down the drain all because Sirianni would rather have his buddy manage the run game instead of the guy who’s done it for years. Unreal. This added on top of the rumoured departures of Vic Fangio, Lane Johnson, and Landon Dickerson makes the outcome of 2025 even more disappointing than it already was.
Super Bowl PredictionÂ
Since Lucas gave his, I’ll give predicting the Super Bowl a try. Part of me remembers the old New England and feels hesitant to pick against them, but I think Seattle has this one. 24-17 Seattle.
