Peach Bowl: Indiana vs Oregon
I don’t know what more to say about Indiana. Everything that there is to be said has been repeated over and over by me and the rest of the College Football world. The Hoosiers had complete control from the beginning. Dante Moore threw a pick 6 on the Ducks first offensive snap, and even though they were able to answer on the next drive, that was about it. Indiana scored 35 unanswered points. This stretch featured 2 Oregon fumbles, touchdowns from Omar Cooper Jr and Charlie Becker, and a missed field goal. Oregon finally scored a touchdown to cut the lead to 27 and Indiana felt threatened so they scored two more touchdowns. A little unnecessary, but I won’t complain about a team wanting to not just win, but completely dominate, which sums up this Hoosiers team perfectly. They don’t “win” football games. They kill the other team in the first half then run around for another 45 minutes. This team is just as hungry as they were when they beat Old Dominion in week one, and they’re ready to devour whoever stands in their way. What team is that?
Fiesta Bowl: Ole Miss vs Miami
The Miami Hurricanes. So much for upsets not happening in college football. Led by a rejuvenated Carson Beck, standout true freshman Malachi Toney, and an absolute unit of a defense, the Canes have pulled off a series of upsets on the way to the National Championship. Speaking of that defense, these guys are legit. Led by Akheem Mesidor and his 10.5 sacks, this Miami team is a unit that makes the best offenses in the game look like JUCO schools. Ole Miss put up a stronger fight than Miami’s previous two victims, but it wasn’t enough. At first Ole Miss didn’t look like they’d have any problem against the Hurricanes defense after Kewan Lacy’s monster 73 yard touchdown to put the Rebs up 7-3. Then the forgotten element of this team kicked in. The offense. Don’t let the defense’s praise distract you from Carson Beck proving just about everything we thought about him wrong. Despite Chambliss’s best efforts, Beck kept up, and Miami was up 17-13 at the half. The 3rd quarter included both teams’ kickers missing 51 yard field goals, but Ole Miss kicker Lucas Carneiro redeemed himself with two field goals to give Ole Miss the lead. Then, the guy on the header, Malachi Toney answered, giving Miami the lead right back. But if we know one thing about Trinidad Chambliss, it’s that he doesn’t quit. Ole Miss drove down the field and took the lead, plus a two point conversion to take a 3 point lead. Then, what seemed unthinkable after the quarterfinals last year, happened. Carson Beck led the Hurricanes down the field, and with 18 seconds left, gave Miami the win. 31-27. The Hurricanes are going back to the National Championship.
2025-2026 FBS National Championship Game prediction
So, who wins? We know that Miami will be the best defense Indiana has faced so far, but is that enough to stop the Hoosier machine? No way. This Indiana team is absolutely unstoppable. The Hoosiers will hoist their first ever National Championship on January 19th.
