Tsaocaa Bubble Tea Review

Tsaocaa Bubble Tea Review

Briana Hoehn, Writer

Boba tea has become increasingly popular in recent years. For those that don’t know, bubble tea is a tea-based Taiwanese drink that is usually a variation of milk and fruity flavors. What makes this tea different, besides its unique taste, is that there are bubble-like tapioca pearls at the bottom of the drink. Bubble tea is now a worldwide phenomenon, with bubble tea bars popping up in most large towns, cities and shopping centers.

I’ve been hooked on boba for a while now and have tried several different shops around the Abington area, including Kung Fu Tea, Mr. Wish, and most recently, Tsaocaa Bubble Tea. Tsaocaa, located in Elkins Park, stands out more than any other shop I’ve tried. Not only do the tea drinks taste rich and delicious, but they also consist of pure and natural ingredients. The tea itself isn’t too sweet, but what’s good about this place is that you can actually choose the percentage of sugar to your liking. The tapioca pearls taste like warm brown sugar and are the perfect consistency. You can also get fruit-flavored popping bubbles that pop in your mouth when you bite into them. The texture is something you might have to get used to at first, but once you try it, you can’t get enough of it.

I’ve tried several items on the menu, but my favorite, go-to drink is the pineapple green tea with mango popping bubbles. Tsaocaa even adds a fresh lime to every drink which makes it even more appetizing. A large tea is around $6.25 with an additional $0.75 for the boba. This may seem a little on the pricier side, but the good quality, healthy drink you get is totally worth the couple extra dollars. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, making the experience at Tsaocaa Bubble Tea even better. If you are looking for something new to try, or even just a different boba shop, Tsaocaa is definitely the place for you.
