Week 7 Sunday began with the Rams building a surprising demolition of the now 4-3 Jacksonville Jaguars as the final game in London, and concluded with the Seahawks beating up on the Houston Texans in a far-off battle in Seattle on Monday Night Football. During this weekend’s (and Monday’s) action, some insane games occurred, such as the Browns tearing the Dolphins apart with a rookie who has only played 2 games, Dillon Gabriel. While the Dolphins have an unsettled future, the Jets drag themselves to stay winless under Justin Fields, and the Chiefs’ defense causes only 67 passing yards out of Geno Smith in a 31-30 shutout, as week 7 came to a close.
Week 8 started with the Chargers blowing out the Vikings in Los Angeles 37 – 10. Justin Herbert dropped a 230 yd 3 td performance on Minnesota’s heads, while Carson Wentz put up a disappointing 15-27 144 yd performance. While Herbert helped win the game through the air, rising star Kimani Vidal rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown. Performances by Justin Herbert, Vidal, and Ladd McConkey all led to the rout of the Minnesota Vikings to begin Week 8.
Week 7 record: 12 – 2
Dolphins (1-6) at Falcons (3-3) 1:00 PM, CBS
While the Falcons offense went silent against the 49ers largely injured defense, they are still playing the Miami Dolphins. This team is the same team who lost 31 – 7 to the Cleveland Browns, dealing with Tua Tagovailoa horrid passing against a good defense, but this team is absolutely aimless. The Falcons should be able to beat up on the confused Dolphins with a dominant performance by Bijan Robinson to reach an over .500 record after their loss to San Francisco.
ATL 30 – 10 MIA
Bears (4-2) at Ravens (1-5) 1:00 PM, CBS
The Bears are a team who are capable of great achievements in 2025, but also great losses. In my opinion though, this will be an easy win for Chicago. The Ravens without a starter like Lamar Jackson are almost aimless, as both Tyler Huntley and Cooper Rush are obviously not helping the Ravens offense gain any leverage. The Bears will win this game by a large margin, like the last couple weeks for the Ravens since Lamar’s injury has been.
CHI 34 – 13 BAL
Jets (0-7) at Bengals (3-4) 1:00 PM CBS
The Jets, even with all of the hype around them going into the 2025 season, have become a paper bag team. Much in the likes of the 2008 Lions and the 2017 Cleveland Browns, this team has lost almost all hope, and none of their “key” players (Former Rookie of the Year Garett Wilson, Sauce Gardner, and new free agent acquisition Justin Fields) have come up for them when they need it, and their play has not been great. The Bengals, while struggling before the acquisition of Joe Flacco, have found a rhythm and most likely can put the Jets to sleep this Sunday.
CIN 35 – 17 NYJ
Bills (4-2) at Panthers (4-3) 1:00 PM CBS
While the Panthers have been in better form throughout the last couple of weeks, they still have not played well enough for me to beat the Bills. As long as the Bills have Josh Allen, they can beat any type of mediocre or even good playing teams like the Panthers.
BUF 23 – 20 CAR
49ers (5-2) at Texans (2-4) 1:00 PM FOX
The 49ers are a team plagued by injuries, and the Texans are plagued by disappointing play by their leader, CJ Stroud. The 49ers have been much less affected though, as Christian McCaffrey is proving that he is still great even after his season long injury last year, and the team is still functioning without the star players. The 49ers should be able to beat the Texans, but it will be a close matchup
SF 24 – 18 HOU
Browns (2-5) at Patriots (5-2) 1:00 PM FOX
The Patriots have looked like a supreme contender inside of the AFC, with Drake Maye leading the charge and even entering the MVP race through his efforts. The Patriots have had good offensive and defensive efforts, and the team should be able to beat the Browns, even after the beatdown they gave to Miami last Sunday, the Patriots are just better in almost every way.
NE 30 – 7 CLE
Giants (2-5) at Eagles (5-2) 1:00 PM FOX
The Eagles are ready to get back on the New York Giants, as they are going into Lincoln Financial Field to fight the Eagles. With the huge offensive performance against Minnesota, Jalen Hurts (week 8: 326 yd, 3 td) is looking for a decisive comeback against New York, and the Eagles defense, with the addition of Brandon Graham announcing his unretirement, look to shut down the Giants offense, which I believe they will as they have most likely learned Cam Skattebo’s monster running and their other offensive weapons, the Eagles should be able to win this game by a large margin.
PHI 27 – 13 NYG
Buccaneers (5-2) at Saints (1-6) 4:05 PM FOX
The Buccaneers are looking to win a game after being demolished by the Detroit Lions, wherein Baker Mayfield had only 60 yards throughout the first half, with slow offense being the team’s downfall. While in New Orleans, Spencer Rattler has been putting up some decent passing performances even though his team has only 1 win, due to the lack of skill players on the team. The Buccaneers should win this game somewhat closely.
TB 23 – 20 NO
Titans (1-6) at Colts (6-1) 4:25 PM CBS
The Colts are the team with the best record in the NFL and are performing like the best team in the league so far due to Jonathan Taylors’ monster running and Daniel Jones insane passing, both looking like MVP tier candidates, while Tennessee is playing as one of the worst teams in the league, with Cam Wards’ efforts being stomped out by his fellow teammates on both offense and defense doing horribly, causing this to most likely be a route of Tennessee by Indianapolis.
IND 40 – 13 TEN
Cowboys (3-3-1) at Broncos (5-2) 4:25 PM CBS
While the Broncos are on a 3 game winning streak, it is a streak of luck more than a streak of skill. 2 of the 3 wins, the Giants from 2 missed extra points, and the Eagles through bad referee calling throughout the 4th quarter and an Eagles defensive collapse, both of these wins were out of luck. The Broncos have also been one of the worst first half teams, so I believe that the Cowboys after handling easily the Commanders can come out strong and finish the game, ending the Broncos 3 game winning streak.
DAL 33 – 26 DEN
Packers (4-1-1) at Steelers (4-2) 8:20 PM NBC
After the Steelers loss to the Joe Flacco led Cardinals, they face the 1 loss Packers, who look like a serious threat for Pittsburgh, with Jordan Love and Micah Parsons at both helms. This should be a close, high scoring game from two high power offenses, which the Packers can come out of on top with their defense
GB 28 – 23 PIT
Commanders (3-4) at Chiefs (4-3) 7:00 PM ABC
The Chiefs, with MVP frontrunner Patrick Mahomes, look to beat up on a weakened Commanders team to improve their own winning streak to 3 games, while the Commanders look to come back over a disappointing performance against Dallas, being blown out by the Cowboys. The Chiefs should be able to extend their streak, and with the addition of Rashee Rice improving the team, they should improve to 5 wins by beating Washington.
KC 33 – 20 WAS
Week 5 MVP: Patrick Mahomes
To help his own MVP case, Mahomes on Monday Night Football will try to do his best against the Washington Commanders, with the team having the best passing performances since Rashee Rice has come back, having to amazing receiving options has helped make Mahomes efforts even better and should propel him to expose Washington’ s aging defense.
Game of the Week: Packers vs. Steelers
Sunday marks the first time Aaron Rodgers has ever returned to his original team to play against them, the Green Bay Packers. While he is looking for revenge, Micah Parsons and Jordan Love look to stop the Steelers highly effective and high scoring offense. This will be a close matchup for the two competing teams.
