Sunday’s week 6 games started with a murmur, as the Broncos improved to 4 wins with a 13 – 11 defensive battle to push the Jets to stay with a winless record. Some other interesting games throughout week 6 included the Bears hitting a game-winning kick in the final seconds to push the Commanders to a .500 record, the Falcons surprising the Bills, and the Panthers blowing the Cowboys’ chances to win their 3rd game in Carolina.
Week 7 started with a bang, as Joe Flacco won a shootout with the Bengals against the Aaron Rodgers-led Steelers, 33-31. Joe Flacco led a 31/47, 342 yd, 3 td performance with Jamarr Chase catching 16 balls to lead a last-second field goal win for Cincinnati.
Week 6 record: 8 – 5
Rams (4-2) at Jaguars (4-2) 9:30 AM, NFL Network
The Jaguars, even though they had looked hot, went down to the Sam Darnold-led Seattle Seahawks. While the Rams defeated a weak Ravens team, both teams are looking to bounce back and gain a lead within their respective divisions. Even though the Rams have a strong team, a lackluster showing against a bad Ravens team tells me the Jags could have what it takes to take down these Rams.
JAX 30 – 23 LAR
Saints (1-5) at Bears (3-2) 1:00 PM, FOX
The Saints, despite a roster that has performed poorly, have been able to keep many close games against tough teams and have not gone down easily. The Bears had a strong showout in a last-second field goal win against the Commanders. While the Saints can keep many games close, the Bears will be able to pull out the win
CHI 17 – 13 NO
Dolphins (1-5) at Browns (1-5) 1:00 PM CBS
The Dolphins came off a close loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, where a harsh effort to finish off the team led to them losing by a final field goal, staying with only one win. The Browns, as well, are stuck with a single victory, as they lost to the Steelers by 14 points. Even with the team’s shortcomings, they should be able to upset a Dolphins team that has been consistently losing and get Dillon Gabriel his first NFL victory.
CLE 14 – 10 MIA
Raiders (2-4) at Chiefs (3-3) 1:00 PM CBS
In week 6, the Chiefs were able to cap the Lions and secure themselves to a .500 record, and have looked stronger after a hard start to the season. The Raiders won an easy game against the Titans, and do not have a good team, as Geno Smith is struggling at quarterback; the Chiefs should be able to win this game.
KC 35 – 13 OAK
Panthers (3-3) at Jets (0-6) 1:00 PM FOX
The Panthers have been inconsistent throughout the first 6 weeks. Sometimes this team has been able to upset good or even great teams, such as the Cowboys in week 6, but other times they fall with large losses. They are playing a Jets team, though, who have portrayed how Justin Fields is not a capable starter in 2025, making me keep believing the Jets will still stay with 0 wins and the Panthers will become above .500.
CAR 33 – 10 NYJ
Patriots (4-2) at Titans (1-5) 1:00 PM CBS
The Patriots have had a surprisingly good season, as they are in the lead of the AFC East as of week 7, and they are one of the strongest teams in the league, as Drake Maye is having a breakout sophomore year, and Stefon Diggs has also been having an almost career year. The Titans are, of course, struggling each week, and even star QB Cam Ward knows this, leading to their demise in week 7.
NE 35 – 16 TEN
Eagles (4-2) at Vikings (3-2) 1:00 PM FOX
The Eagles are riding off a 2-game losing streak, including an embarrassing blowout by the Giants. The Vikings, on the other hand, have had a full week to work themselves out after a small victory against the Cleveland Browns. While the Vikings had a break to try to look better without J.J. McCarthy starting, the Eagles want it more and will most likely be reforming their play as a whole, winning this game by a close margin.
PHI 23 – 20 MIN
Colts (5-1) at Chargers (4-2) 4:05 PM CBS
The Colts are still hot as ever, and this game should be a battle of AFC powerhouses, with two elite quarterbacks at the helm, Daniel Jones and Justin Herbert. This should be a high scoring battle, and the Colts can end the battle winning due to their own momentum.
IND 40 – 37 LAC
Packers (3-1-1) at Cardinals (2-4) 4:05 PM FOX
The Packers are coming off of a win against the Joe Flacco led Bengals, while the Cardinals have lost 4 games straight due to unluckiness and team struggles. The Packers should be able to beat out this failing Cardinals team and move to 4 – 1 – 1 easily.
GB 24 – 10 ARZ
Commanders (3-3) at Cowboys (2-3-1) 4:25 PM FOX
While the Commanders struggled against the Bears and fell to them in week 6, the Cowboys have had one of the worst defenses in the NFL. This game will most likely be an offensive battle, with the shootout going in the Commanders favor because their defense is slightly less underachieving than the Cowboys.
WAS 35 – 27 DAL
Falcons (3-2) at 49ers (4-2) 8:20 PM NBC
The Falcons are a surprising team, in that they are able to take down tough teams, but other weeks they will come out and lose to a team like the Panthers. The 49ers, while they lost to the Buccaneers, are still serious contenders and have gotten back George Kittle after a weeks long injury leave. The return of Kittle and the play of the 49ers makes me believe they will be able to get an easy win at home.
SF 27 – 13 ATL
Buccaneers (5-1) at Lions (4-2) 7:00 PM ABC
The Bucs were able to pull out a win against the San Francisco 49ers, but the Lions ended up struggling against the Kansas City Chiefs, and fell to 4-2 in week 6. The Bucs have almost looked unstoppable, but the Lions are looking for a bounce back game, which I believe Jared Goff and his gang will do.
DET 23 – 20 TB
Texans (2-3) at Seahawks (4-2) Monday 8:15 PM ESPN
The Seahawks are laying their way on the league, proving they are serious in week 6 by a close looking but obvious beatdown of a 4-2 Jaguars team to solidify themselves, while the Texans had an off week last week, maybe a point to review themselves and work on their play. Even with this time, though, the Seahawks will be able to portray that they are strong and not an easy defeat, but this game will be close.
SEA 30 – 23 HOU
Week 5 MVP: Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones (1502 yds, 8 tds, 3 ints) should be able to have a shootout against the Chargers, and score a load of touchdowns or find ways to pass well like he has done all season, and win against a tough team like the Chargers.
Game of the Week: Eagles vs. Vikings
With the struggle of the Eagles defense, this week could be a good week for them to get back on track against an outshone Vikings defense, with Isaiah Rodgers, former Eagles cornerback, paving the Vikings way on defense. If the Eagles defense is not great, this game could be also a good offensive game with Justin Jefferson doing well and the Eagles offense maybe getting back on track with the half bye from Thursday.
Week 7 could be somewhat of a quiet week, with not many surprising matchups happening, but it’s so early on in the season, and anything can happen.
