Never rank Illinois top 10 ever again

I genuinely do not remember the last time a top 10 team went out this sad. Does Illinois’s defense even like football? 66 points! From Indiana! I know the Hoosiers are good, I picked them to win this game, but I didn’t think they had a 60 point game in them! Someone needs to start a petition to change their name to just the Illini, because they didn’t fight at all.

Boise State finds their Jeanty replacement

The Broncos have been looking for a replacement for their Doak Campbell winning back Ashton Jeanty since he left for the NFL. I’m not going to jump the gun and say they found one, but RB Dylan Riley’s performance vs Air Force was definitely Jeanty-esque. Riley accumulated 255 yards and 5 touchdowns, including 4 rushing touchdowns and one 75 yard catch. Very similar to Jeanty’s 266 yard, 4 touchdown performance vs Washington State last season. I’ve got my eyes on Riley for the rest of the season.

Arkansas update: It ended like baseball

18 points. That’s how much Arkansas led by in the second quarter. I mentioned Arkansas’s Omaha collapse last week when talking about this game. While I wouldn’t say this is nearly as bad, that probably doesn’t make Hogs fans feel any better. Sutton Smith’s game winning touchdown will spend a good amount of time in Arkansas fans’ heads if it ends up costing them down the road.

NFL special teams

What does this have to do with College Football? Well, all of these guys went to college! I just wanted an excuse to write about the wild week for special teams we just saw in the NFL. Four game winning field goals. Even crazier, 4 BLOCKED kicks, with the highlight being Eagles DT Jordan Davis’s block and 61 yard touchdown return on what would’ve won the games for the Rams.
