Eswatini 2018- On April 19th, Swaziland changed its name to Eswatini, a country nearly surrounded by South Africa.                  

Crimea 2014- If Crimea, a region that once belonged to Ukraine, is a part of Russia, then your globe was made after March 18th, 2014.

South Sudan 2011-  South Sudan, A country in Africa located below Sudan, gained independence from Sudan on July 9th, 2011.

Kosovo 2008 In the Balkan region of Europe, Kosovo gained independence from Serbia on February 17, 2008.

Montenegro 2006Montenegro, a country in the Balkan region of Europe, split from the countries Serbia and Montenegro on June 3rd, 2006.

Montenegro and Serbia 2003- Yugoslavia was divided into Montenegro and Serbia, two separate regions, just in the same country of Montenegro and Serbia on February 4th, 2003.

Yugoslavia splits 1992- Yugoslavia, a country in the Balkans, split into Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Yugoslavia (just Serbia and Montenegro) in 1992.

Soviet Union Splits 1991- The Soviet Union splits into Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan on December 25th, 1991

Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 1979- Both Caribbean countries gained independence from the UK, Lucia on February 22nd, and Saint Vincent on October 27th.

Dominica 1978- A country in the Caribbean, Dominica gained independence from the UK on November 3rd, 1978.

Djibouti 1977- A country in North East Africa, next to Ethiopia, gained independence from France on June 27th, 1977.

Suriname, Angola, Mozambique, and Papua New Guinea 1975- All four countries gained independence. Suriname, In South America above Brazil, on November 25th from the Netherlands. Angola, In South-West Africa, on November 11th from Portugal. Mozambique, In South-East Africa, on June 2nd from Portugal. Papua New Guinea, In South-East Asia near Indonesia, on September 16th from Australia

Grenada 1974- Grenada, in the Caribbean, gained independence from the UK on February 7th 1974.

Bahamas 1973- A country in the Caribbean, next to Cuba, the Bahamas gained independence from Britain on July 10th, 1973.

Sri Lanka 1972- Ceylon, an island of India, changed its name to Sri Lanka in 1972.

Bahrain 1971- Bahrain, A country next to Saudi Arabia, gained independence from Britain on August 15th, 1971.

Oman 1970- Muscat and Oman, a country below Saudi Arabia in West Asia, changed its name to Oman in 1970.
