A few weeks ago, an Instagram account was created to ‘expose’ and ‘harass’ Trump supporters. This account is protected by the 1st Amendment so nothing can be done to take it down unless Instagram finds it in violation of their policies. However, I believe that this account infringes on peoples’ right to privacy. It is no one’s business to know what party someone belongs to. People have a right to speak their minds and opinions without being verbally attacked for it. A few friends of mine have reported this account for harassment, but Instagram has yet to take any action against it. 

The Google definition for open-minded is, “Willing to consider new ideas; unprejudiced. To be open-minded, that means you have to listen to other people’s arguments even if you disagree with their views. Being open-minded also means recognizing people for the individuals they are and understanding that everyone has various views.” Many Democrats claim to be open-minded yet can’t accept Republican views and ideologies. You don’t have to agree with someone, but that doesn’t give you the right to attack them for what they believe. Everyone has freedom of speech so no one should be harassed for their political views.

Republicans aren’t necessarily terrible people, and neither are democrats. The two parties just have different platforms. Everyone wants what’s best for America. Everyone has a voice. Use it for the right purpose.
