Will Among Us Take Over Fortnite?

Will Among Us Take over Fortnite? First, here’s a summary of the two games: Fortnite is a survival game where 100 players fight against each other in player versus player combat to be the last one standing. It is a fast-paced, action-packed game. It has been very popular since the fall of 2017. It is available on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, and Android phone (Apple removed Fortnite from the app store on August 13th). Fortnite has a 5-star rating. Among Us is an American murder mystery game developed and published by Innersloth on June 15, 2018 for iOS and Android and on August 18, 2018 on PC at Steam. The game follows a group of crewmates and, among them, there are 1-3 impostors. Their goal is to sabotage the space-ship and kill everyone. It’s like the Hunger Games, where strategic thinking is required in order to win the game. Among Us has a 4-star rating.
Fortnite hit its peak of popularity in July of 2018 when a whopping 8.9 BILLION hours were spent watching Streamers on Twitch, but the game declined quickly in the month of August. In July of 2019, Minecraft took its popularity crown back from Fortnite, making it the #1 video game of 2019. A lot of games have come and gone, causing Fortnite to ride a popularity roller coaster. Some of these games include Apex Legends, Call Of Duty: Warzone, League Of Legends, and Fall Guys. Could Among Us actually take over the Fortnite Fanbase with its sudden rise to fame? Fortnite has already created an Among Us map in its Creative Mode. Could that influence Fortnite players to start playing the actual game?
Both games earn some revenue from in-game purchases. In Fortnite, you have the option of buying skins, emotes, back-blings (backpacks), and pickaxes. In Among Us, you have the option to buy skins, pets, and hats. Both games have different game options. Fortnite has Creative mode, Battle Royale, Party Royale, Save The World, and other options that come and go as the (in-game) seasons change. In Among Us, you have the different options of ships, the amount of impostors, and the max amount of people who can be in the game at once. Both games have a multiplayer option and pretty bad servers. When Fortnite crashes, the whole matchmaking system crashes. When Among Us crashes, individual people crash at different times. In Among Us, you could be playing Multiplayer and one of your friends crashes, but no one else.
Overall, I estimate that the chance of Among Us surpassing Fortnite in popularity is about a 30% due to the options, addictiveness, and amount of popularity it gained in such a short period of time. It could have a greater chance of taking over Fortnite, when Among Us 2 comes out. Among Us 2 has been confirmed, but the release date is unknown.
