The philosophy of getting good grades, helps you in fact get good grades. We have all been there staring at the poor grade plastered on our test. Thinking it’s the end of the world. But in reality grades don’t dictate your worth as a person or how smart you really are. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t work towards getting higher grades and work to push the limits of our own expectations. Now you may be asking, “how do you get good grades?” Well, aren’t you in a fantastic place? Here are three tips to help you become the best student you can be.
- To get good grades, you must be okay with failing first.
The whole stigma that if or inevitably when you fail you are just never going to succeed and will never get you anywhere is 100% wrong. Although A students don’t necessarily want to fail they understand that when they do it’s a chance for them to get back up. They recognize that they in fact failed, and fix that problem. Instead of having the negative mindset of just being a failure
- You must put in the effort.
We have all been told nothing free in life. And that is true. Without putting the effort into your work you won’t see the best results. I know school may not be the most entertaining thing in the world. When you make the effort to be present in class and do your homework your grades will positively affect that and vice versa. Homework grades might seem small but after a week of not doing it it could drop you a letter grade, not good. So by being in class it can help you comprehend the material so you ultimately do better on tests and quizzes.
- Ask for help.
If being present in class doesn’t help you and you’re still confused. Ask for help. Teachers have often been teaching for multiple years. They are here to not only teach you but to help you. Teachers , even if it might seem like it, want you to succeed in life. Their goal is to get you ready for the next step in life which could be college or trade school or working at your dads company whatever the next step might be. They are here to help so you have to realize that you can get the help that not only gets you on some teachers’ good side but also could help you understand and do better in the class.
To be a good student you must be okay with failing, putting in the effort, and being okay asking for help. With these tips hopefully it will help you have a successful school year and help you meet your academic goals.
