A few weeks ago, I wrote about 4 potential Eagles draft picks. With night one of the 2025 NFL Draft only 2 weeks away, I’ll look at 4 more.
Nick Emmanwori, Safety, South Carolina
Emmanwori is one of the most highly touted safeties in the 2025 draft class. Scouts have praised his athleticism. Nick is listed at 6’3, 227. For context, the average NFL safety is 6’0-6’1 feet tall, weighing 200-210 pounds. Emmanwori is also very speedy, with his 40 time landing at 4.38. Safeties usually run 4.55 times, putting him above other prospects. Emmanwori also made plenty of big plays in his 2024 season for South Carolina. Nick recorded 4 picks, two of which being returned for a touchdown. Both CBS’s Pete Prisco and Pro Football Network’s Marco Enriquez have Emmanwori mocked to the Eagles at #32. With the loss of CJ Gardner Johnson, Emmanwori would be a great fit in the Eagles secondary.
Nic Scourton, Edge, Texas A&M
The A&M edge recorded a Big 10 leading sacks in 2023 with Purdue. After transferring to Texas A&M in 2024, he led the team in sacks. He is 6’4, 280 pounds, the perfect size for an NFL edge rusher. Scouts have described Scourton as a player with “Good power and aggression” and “always in the middle of everything”. Both Owain Jones of College Football Report and Max Chadwick of Pro Football Focus have Nic mocked to the Eagles at pick 32. I’ve done many mock drafts, with a majority of them either resulting in Scourton becoming an Eagle, or being available to be selected. If I had to bet on one player most likely to become an Eagle on April 24th, I would feel very comfortable betting on Nic Scourton.
Walter Nolen, Defensive Tackle, Ole Miss
The Ole Miss star is the 3rd highest ranked DT in the 2025 draft according to ESPN’s ranking system. The only players he falls behind are projected top 10 pick Mason Graham and ESPN’s 23rd overall prospect Derrick Harmon. Nolen received an 86 production score from NFL Next Gen Stats Draft Model, 2nd among defensive tackles who attended the 2025 NFL combine. NFL Mock Draft Database, a website that tracks mock drafts across the sports world has Walter being drafted by Philadelphia in 8.5% of mock drafts in their database, the most of any player. Some of these mock drafts include Connor Rodgers of NBC Sports, Matthew Freedman of Fantasy Life, and Rhett Lewis of NFL.com.
Kevin Winston Jr, Safety, Penn State
Winston is an extremely athletic prospect who has been referred to have “NFL size” by scouts. Winston was an honorable mention for all Big 10 team in 2023, and also led the Nittany Lions in tackles. However, his 2024 season was cut short due to a partially torn acl. The Eagles can use this unfortunate situation to their advantage. With Winston expected to fall to the 2nd-3rd round, the Eagles could grab one of the top safeties in the draft without costing them a first round pick. I would love to see the Eagles add Winston with their #64 pick in the second round and add safety depth after the loss of CJ Gardner Johnson.
