In a drab January world, a coffee shop is a cozy oasis providing refuge from the bitter cold. A good cup of coffee or a fun drink can be just the thing to brighten your day. It’s hard to feel sad when you smell the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans and are greeted with the smile of a barista. Nestled on the corner of West Ave in Jenkintown, White Horse Coffee and Creamery is the perfect small-town coffee shop to cure your January blues. Born out of Jean Brillman’s combined love of horses and coffee, White Horse Coffee and Creamery began on wheels. Brillman and her husband, Brian, were at a horse race when they realized their need for refreshments. They bought a coffee and ice cream truck off of Ebay to provide good coffee for horse shows and events. Their franchise only grew from there, and they have a location in Jenkintown and three more coming soon to nearby areas.
White Horse’s allure reaches far beyond its delicious refreshments and flavorful food. Committed to 100% sustainability, the coffee shop uses all compostable packaging and brews organic, fair-trade coffee. The establishment even commits to roasting with zero emissions using electric roasters. In congruence with the shop’s genuine and uplifting character, the White Horse baristas are incredibly lively, greeting the customers with smiles and small talk. From personal experience, always order your Chai lattes with extra chai or even try something from their winter menu, like the Gingerbread Chai.
