In early May, the ASHS theater announced that the fall play for the 24-25 school year would be Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a comedy/drama with multiple different storylines carefully woven to create a tale of love, humor, and magic. I’ve had the fortune of being cast in the play for my first-ever show here at Abington. Over the past three weeks of rehearsals, I’ve been given the rewarding opportunity to be part of such a skilled group of student actors.
In just a few rehearsals, talented actors and actresses have learned to embody their characters flawlessly. Abington’s cast is amazing, but the fabulous stage crew has been working diligently to create an amazing background set! Even more, our costume crew has already begun designing costumes! It amazes me how much talent there is throughout the entire theater department, and I cannot wait to see how this production comes out.
There is a lovely community that has been built through this show. It is always wonderful to find people who like the same things as you, but not only are these people similar in their affinity for theater, but in their kindness and dedication. Thanks to the wonderful cast and crew for this show, I have loved every minute of practice.
Putting on a Shakespeare production is no easy feat, but our crew has been hard at work to well represent this piece of work. Our official show dates are November 21st, 22nd, and 23rd at 7:00 PM; I hope to see many of you out in the crowd!
