Halloween is creeping up on us and there are so many places around Abington and Philadelphia to help you get into the spooky spirit! Here is a list of five fun favorites for you to visit with your family or friends!
1. Eastern State Penitentiary

The Halloween Nights Eastern State Penitentiary is Philly’s most beloved Halloween attraction as well as one of the largest haunted houses in America. The prison has held the infamous criminal of Al Capone and has some new attractions for 2023. There are now 5 haunted houses and 2 walking tours around the 11 acres it is located on. Enter at your own risk!
2. Valley of Fear

The Valley of Fear has been up and running for the last 35 years. They have a thrilling haunted hayride which is said to offer 12 new scenes for 2023! They also have the Miles Manor Haunted House which will always keep you on your toes!
3. Bates Motel

Named one of the 10 top best haunted house attractions, the Bates Motel is certainly a place to put on your list to see! They are said to have scary realistic details about their attractions and also offer a 25-minute Haunted Hayride through the Arasapha Farm and a corn trail full of haunted scarecrows and other monsters!
4. Pennhurst Asylum

The asylum operates in the same facility as the infamous psychiatric hospital. The psychiatric hospital was open 80 years before it was shut down. The notorious property holds three main attractions: the Pennhurst Asylum haunted house, the Pennhurst Morgue, and the Pennhurst Tunnels. It has been described as the one of scariest places to see!
5. Sleepy Hollow Haunted Acre

The Sleepy Hollow Haunted Acre is located on the 230 acre Gunser Farm in Newtown. They have been an operating family farm offering their scary attractions since 1990! The Sleepy Hollow Hayride is a mile and a quarter long which is one of the longest in the region. There is also an abandoned village at the end of the hayride which leads to The House in the Hollow- a terrifying haunted house. The farm also features bonfires and live music for friends and family to enjoy.
