Sleeping in Jeans is NOT Weird

Sleeping in Jeans is NOT Weird

For years now, I’ve received so much slander for my tendency to sleep in jeans. People have bashed this habit for being “weird”, “utterly uncomfortable”, or even a “red flag”. There was a time when I wasn’t alone in my stance on jeans-sleeping. In fact, many of my friends used to sleep in jeans. Alas, one by one, they all stopped this habit because of the constant ridicule they received. I, however, am here to stay for good and to hopefully convince you that sleeping in jeans is the superior way to live.

The first and perhaps most important reason that jeans-sleeping is the best is because of how convenient it is.

Imagine this: it’s a typical winter school night and you plan to dress nice for school the next day. You conform to the societal norm and wear PJ’s to sleep. Because of your prejudiced ways, you now have to change into jeans in the painfully cold morning. Imagine the sting of the freezing buttons and zippers as you put on your jeans. Imagine that minute of exposure to the cold as you contemplate the meaning of life and why you’re even dressing up in the first place. Not only is that minute of putting on your jeans wasted, but you also have to consider the extra time you spend trying to convince yourself that it’s even worth wearing jeans.

Even if you build up the courage to change into those jeans, you still must put up with the cold material of the jeans for another ten minutes-ish. However, if you had just slept in jeans earlier, your jeans would be all warmed up the moment you woke up and you’d get out of bed with ease. The process of putting on jeans in the morning is gut-wrenching, and it never ever ever gets easier. But your morning routine doesn’t have to be this hard. The solution? Sleeping in jeans the night before.

Another thing to note: if you’re not sleeping in jeans because you deem them uncomfortable in bed, YOU ARE NOT WEARING THE RIGHT PAIR OF JEANS. I would even go so far as to call jeans as comfy as sweatpants. Even skinny jeans are comfy enough to sleep in as long as you find the right pair.

If you don’t like to sleep in jeans because of their “rough” feeling, I get it. Look, if you want to make your life more inconvenient on those super cold mornings, I won’t stop you. It is definitely a choice. But me and my fellow jeans-sleepers prefer to keep life simple and efficient.

Okay, I actually don’t have any more reasons. But I really don’t think you need any more evidence of the superiority of sleeping in jeans. The proof is simply in the pudding. Now, if you are a fellow jeans-sleeper, I urge you to stand your ground and never give in to the masses. Instead, I beg you to embrace your objectively better, more convenient lifestyle!
