Sushi is the Best

Sushi is the Best

A variety of foods exist not only in America but also all around the globe. Hoping for an engaging response, food critics, food lovers, and average joes alike join together as they can relate to the common ground of food preference. When asked, “What’s your favorite food?”, people provide a variety of answers such as burgers, chicken tenders, pasta, ramen, etc. The list stretches for miles, which is to be expected when asking any individual about their personal food preference. However, in recent years, sushi has been gaining traction and popularity in American culture. Sushi is the best contender in food culture.

Overall, if you care about healthy diet choices, sushi is the best option, as it is high in protein and nutrients. It’s a lean option, as it contains omega three essential fatty acids that we don’t consume enough of in our modern diet. Sushi provides these much-needed healthy fats, particularly when considering the other choices that contain fats that do not support your cardiovascular system. The seaweed wrapped around the roll possesses minimal taste while being healthy for you due to containing vitamins A, B-6, C, and minerals such as iodine. These vitamins and minerals aid in reducing blood pressure and improving heart health.

Moreover, sushi is notoriously perfect for date nights. Due to there being a broad range to choose from, it’s almost certain that your date will like at least one thing on the menu. If you are a picky eater, sushi offers an extensive variety of different ingredient combinations such as a diversity of fish and types of rolls. Even if you are vegetarian or conscious of raw fish, there are vegetarian options as well as cooked fish out for you to match your diet. With a wide spectrum of mix-and-match combinations, each time you decide to eat sushi, it is nearly a guarantee of the fact that you will never get bored or “sick of” it. On top of that, there are so many cooking methods to prepare the dish, so you’ll never really consume the exact thing twice. Sushi is not limited to a roll either. There are such things as sushi bowls and burritos that are now trending, thus adding to the fact of never getting exhausted. Unsurprisingly, this promotes people to try something new and be open-minded to the possibility that a certain sushi roll may just be their favorite.

Assembling and plating sushi is in itself a form of art. Though one would bring up the argument that any food may be plated artistically, sushi is truly a work of art. Usually, when you go out to a restaurant, the rolls are under the care of trained chefs. Each ingredient item is so simplistic, yet refined in its riches. Chefs generally take great pride in the presentation of their artwork, creating beautiful rolls and decorative garnishes while also incorporating items that complement the food’s visual aesthetic and taste. Quality sushi restaurants also will concentrate on establishing a pleasant atmosphere in dining. People will walk in and feel as if they have entered a new world, creating an artful environment. However, if you are more of an introverted individual, then do not concern yourself with feeling unnecessary peer pressure to go out to a restaurant in order to enjoy the concept of sushi. In fact, just like any other food, sushi is no different in the idea that it is more of an inexpensive financial option for you to buy the ingredients and tools at home and just make it there. In turn, you will learn the method of creating sushi and its historical and cultural background.
