Missing LSU student Kori Gauthier’s Body is Found

Kori Gauthier, an 18-year-old student at Louisiana State University, has been found dead after a weeklong search for her. Her body was found in the Mississippi River on Tuesday, April, 13. Gauthier, who is from Opelousas, Louisiana, had been missing since Wednesday, April 7. Her unoccupied car was found near the Mississippi River and it was evident that someone crashed into Gauthier’s vehicle. Although Gauthier was not at the scene, her car was running. Gauthier’s family offered a $10,000 reward to anyone that helps find her. Family, friends, and members of the LSU community helped search for her body and eventually, officials were able to find her body through cellphone tracking. “Our thoughts are with her parents, her family, and all who knew her during this very difficult time. We offer our deepest condolences to her family and friends,” said interim LSU President Tom Galligan.
