  20. Wish You Would (feat. Quavo)
  21. Know No Better (feat. DaBaby)
  22. Name (feat. Tori Kelly)

The album has become very popular and extremely controversial due to the MLK interlude he included in his album. Many were quick to say that the album doesn’t revolve around the idea of true justice. His opening song, “2 Much,” was about his wife Hailey, yet he included an MLK quote, which confused many of his followers. Bieber took his statement regarding this controversy to Twitter stating:

“I know that I cannot simply solve injustice by making music, but I do know that if we all do our part by using our gifts to serve this planet, and each other, that we are that much closer to being united… This is me doing a small part. My part. I want to continue the conversation of what justice looks like so we can continue to heal.”

Justin Bieber’s intentions of the MLK Interlude and naming the album Justice was his way of discussing what justice looks like, especially after the Black Lives Matter movement that gained the attention and support of many.

Justice is an incredible album! This past week, it debuted at number 1 on Billboard 200! I’ve always been a fan of Justin Bieber, but regardless of who he is, his music is amazing, no doubt. He’s very talented and this new album of his has got to be one of my favorites, following Purpose. My favorite tracks on Justice will probably have to be “Ghost,” and “Off My Face.”

“Ghost” is such a fun upbeat song to shout in the car and it’s my favorite track on the album. It’s super vibey and catchy! The song however has also caused controversy that includes his ex, Selena Gomez. There have been many speculations about “Ghost” being about her and it being a “response song.” It’s known that a few years ago, Selena wrote a song called “Ghost Of You” about Justin when she and Justin broke up. Justin Bieber’s “Ghost” supposedly is about closure and accepting the fact that Selena and he can not be together, and instead, he’ll choose to “settle for the ghost of [Selena].” Although he’s married to Hailey Bieber, Gomez was his first love. I personally love the song so much and I think the message of moving on is very important.

“Off My Face” is more of a chill and less upbeat song. It’s acoustic and about being in love. It’s a really sweet and genuine song. The chorus says, “Cause I’m off my face, in love with you, I’m out my head, so into you.” Justin talks about how he feels when he’s in love which is a universal message to all, since love is everywhere. Some of the other examples of him being in love are told through some of the other lyrics when he sings, “Your touch blurred my vision, it’s your world and I’m just in it even sober I’m not thinkin’ straight.” There aren’t many distractions and other instruments behind the vocals, which makes Justin’s voice stand out and feel more authentic. For example, when I put in my AirPods and switch the mode to noise-canceling, I play this song and in a weird way, it feels as though Justin himself is singing in my ear. His diction, singing, and the melody of the song all sound perfect!

To conclude, I rate Justin Bieber’s new album a 10/10 due to its creativity and amazing songs! I loved this new album and all the songs on it. The album didn’t fail to fulfill my expectations as a fan and I truly do think Justice is one of his best works!
